There are so many things that most of my countrymen have no idea about – some chose to be ignorant- and still believe are true even though things happening around them says otherwise.. now some of this things/beliefs are funny while some are just plain absurd… wanna find out what? 1. Nigeria is the most corrupt country in the world

Well not anymore. Somalia has overtaken us as the most corrupt country in the world.

That was what was obtainable during our fathers generation but not anymore. Right now having good grades is not a ticket to good life hardwork and luck is.

3. Catholics worship mary

They don’t worship her. When Catholics pray to Mary they are not worshiping her, rather they are honoring her and asking for her intercession on their behalf — in fact, more than praying “to” her, they pray “with” Mary, asking her to pray with and for them.

4. Tribalism will end

Pray all you want, fast all you want if there is one thing that is certain about Nigeria… it is tribalism. It has come to stay and just like corruption, it is going nowhere.

5. Prayer can solve Nigeria’s problem

Many Nigerians think prayer can solve the country’s problem but what they fail to realise is that God is not a magician, he won’t change a persons character from corrupt to good just because you asked him to.

The quicker we get this into our heads, the faster we can come together and look for a solution to Nigeria’s problem.

6. Corruption will come to an end

There is really no point in buttressing this. We all know it can never happen. The word is Never.

Traditionalists are not evil

This mentality was propagated by our colonial masters to make us switch Religion. And till date people still see all traditionalists as Evil. Yes there are evil traditionslists, but there are also evil men of God.

If you are among those who keep paying money to learn how to make $10000 in 1 week you need to wake up. If it were possible the person won’t be selling the info to you at the first place for a meager fee.

9. Police is our friend

Nigerian Police is not your friend

I do not know who came up with the Nigeria Police slogan , “The Police is Your Friend” , but make no mistake about your relationship with the Nigeria Police, they are not your friend. If you think otherwise an encounter with them will set you straight.

10. They have fundamental Rights

Human rights are norms that help to protect all people everywhere from severe political, legal, and social abuses. But In Nigeria, fundamental human rights – atleast the one that really matters – exists only in our foreign text books.

11. Only christains will make heaven

Hell fire

it’s funny but there are some Nigerians today who believe that People practicing other religion no matter how good they are will all end up in Hell. If that was the case God being a fair God would have ensured everyone was born into Christianity and not what we have now. Think about it.

12. One Nigeria. Nigeria will never divide

This One is actually funny. It may not be now. But one thing that is certain is that the country will divide. It may not be in my generation or in my kids generation, but that day will surely come.

13. The only way to make it in nigeria is through connection

This is just the mentality of lazy people. Connection is not and will never be the only way to make it in this country. If you are hardworking, money will find you..

14 Things will get better

Call me a cynic. But if there’s anything I’ve learned from all my years of staying in Nigeria, it’s that things only get worst, never better. They can stabilize for a while but never better.
