The mere -exposure effect is a psychological phenomenon by which people tend to develop a preference for things merely because they are familiar with them.

Thats why you can hear a song for the first time and hate it, but after some days of constantly been exposed to it on the radio, street, tv you find yourself liking the song.

In other words, that we like a song has nothing to do with hio good the artiste is.

2. The type of music you listen to says alot about your personality

The type of music you love listening to could say a lot about you as a person.

Not only that, it also say alot about how you feel (happy, sad, etc). We tend to listen to slow songs when sad, upset and loud songs when happy.

3. Loud music can make you drink more alcohol in less time

According to a study published in the journal Food Quality and Preferences, sound can influence how much alcohol you end up drinking, and music may lead you to drink more than you would in a quieter environment.

This is the sole reason why clubs are very loud.

4. Our memories are stored in Music

Subconsciously, we store our memories -both bitter and sweet memories- in music.

Thats why a song from your past can trigger a very vivid memory.

Listening to music while working out increases your physical performance, this is because Music triggers activity in the same part of the brain that releases the “pleasure chemical” dopamine. This dopamine makes you forget about the stress of the work out.

6. Music helps you deal with pain

You may not know this, but listening to music -a cool music- when you are in pain -mostly emotional and psychological- helps increase your tolerance and perceived control over the painful stimulus. It also helps decrease anxiety.

7. Music Helps You Relax

Although this one is kind of obvious, this list wont be complete without it.
