3. Immediately after her graduation, Supreme Stitches was born (she later changed the name to Rose of Sharon house of fashion) and Alakija became renowned for her designs.

4. Maryam Babaginda was able to get into crude business through the help of one of her customer, Maryam babangida (the wife of former military president of Nigeria, Ibrahim Babaginda).

5. Through her connections, the Nigerian government awarded Alakija’s company an oil prospecting license in 1993, which was later converted to an oil mining lease.

6. Currently, Folorunsho Alakija is vice chair of Famfa Oil, a Nigerian oil exploration company with a stake in Agbami Oilfield, a prolific offshore asset.
