Khaligraph Jones whose real name is Brian Robert Ouko was born on 12th June 1990. He is a Kenyan hip hop artiste. He is popularly known for his hit song ‘Yego.
The talented rapper who fell in love with music at a very young age is known for his lyrical prowess that has endeared him to many Hip hop lovers in the country.

Khaligraph made his debut in 2004 when he was 14 years old, and since then he has been around entertaining his fans. His music is heavily influenced by day-to-day occurrences.

He is the 10th Best rapper in Africa currently.

9. Chyn (Nigeria)

United Kingdom born Nigerian rapper, Cheyenne Labesa, with the stage name Chyn, began his music at an age when many where still on a quest to terms with puberty.

The smooth rapper Chyn, who has a Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University Of Aberdeen, Scotland, began to attract a following after the release of his mixtape, “The Graduate.”

Drawing influences from the greats in the game, and exercising a great understanding of the music business, which has aided his music considerably, he is poised to make 2016 scream his name.

Last year he made a splash on the scene with the song ‘Chardonnay music’, a collaboration with Falz on the album “Stories That Touch.” He also had considerable joy and love from his second collaboration with Falz, ‘Big’.

He is currently the 9th best rapper in Africa.

8. Phyno (Nigeria)

Chibuzor Nelson better known by his stage name Phyno is one of the best rappers in not just Nigeria, but Africa.

He is known for rapping in Igbo language. He started his singing career as a rapper in 2010 and his debut studio album was released in 2014.

He is currently signed to Penthouse music.

M.anifest is a Ghanaian rapper, singer and songwriter and the eight best rapper in africa.
He won Best Rapper and Hip-Hop song of the year at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards.

He has worked with Damon Albarn, Flea, Tony Allen, Erykah Badu, and is featured on five songs on the Rocket Juice and The Moon album. In 2012, BBC’s arts program The Strand tipped him as one of four acts to look out for in 2012.

In 2015 M.anifest’s single “someway bi” earned him a third place honor in the International Songwriters Competition (ISC). In the same year The Guardian named M.anifest as “the foremost rapper on the continent.”.

6. Sarkodie (Ghana)

Michael Owusu Addo professionally know as Sarkodie, is a Ghanaian hip hop recording artist and entrepreneur from Tema. Undoubtedly, sarkodie is the best rapper – if not musician – in Ghana and 7th best rapper in Africa.

Sarkodie is the first Ghanaian to win a BET award (He won the Best International Act: Africa category at the 2012 BET Awards, and was nominated in the same category at the 2014 BET Awards).

Sarkodie is often named as one of Africa’s greatest hip hop artists.

MTV Base ranked him 6th on its list of the Hottest African MC’s in 2014.

In 2015, The Guardian listed him as one of its top five hip hop acts on the African continent.

Sarkodie raps mostly in his native language Twi.

Sitting at the number 5 spot on the Top 10 best African rappers is Ice prince. Although he is now into the normal kind of Nigerian style of music (party jamz) once in a while he releases something to tell we his fans that he is still a rap god.

4. Aka (South Africa)

His name is Aka, and he needs no introduction. He has won so many awards including but not limited to Channel O’s Most Gifted Hip-Hop Video at the 7th annual Channel O Music Video Awards and Male Artist of the Year SAMA and Best Street Urban Music Album.

AKA has opened for Kanye West, Snoop dogg, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar in their South African tours.

He used to be the best rapper in SA, until Nasty C came along with his dopeness. Now he has been relegated down to third best rapper in South Africa and fourth best in Africa.

3. Cassper Nyovest (South africa)

The 3rd best rapper in Africa right now in terms of flows is Cassper Nyovest.. Although He was crowned the best South African MC in 2016 by MTVBase, the vast majority of Africans still think he can’t be compared to Nasty C.

2. M.I (Nigeria)

M.I Abaga, is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and record producer. He has been the CEO of Chocolate City since June 2015.

He won Best Hip Hop and Best New Act at the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards, and was nominated in the Best International Act category at the BET Awards 2010.

He rose to prominence in 2006 when his song “Crowd Mentality” became popular in his hometown of Jos. His critically acclaimed debut studio album, Talk About It, was released on 11 December 2008. The LP was succeeded by M.I 2 (2010). Four years after that, he released his third studio album titled The Chairman.

M.I undoubtedly is the best rapper in Nigeria, Number 2 in Africa and So long as he is still rapping he will never be displaced from the Top 3 spot.

1. Nasty C (South Africa)

He is one of the country’s most prominent performers, and he is widely regarded as one of the country’s best young rappers.

He is most known for the single “Way It Go” by DJ Switch featuring Tumi and Youngsta, as well as the well-received remix to his single “Juice Back”, which features Davido and Cassper Nyovest. He was the youngest recipient for an award at the 2015 South African Hip Hop Awards, namely the Best Freshman Award.

Undoubtedly the best rapper in Africa. His song “Allow” where he featured French montana can be said to be the best collaboration between an African rapper and a rapper from the other side.
