The Legatum Prosperity Index is an annual ranking developed by the Legatum Institute, a division of the United Arab Emirates- based private investment firm, Legatum.
Top 10 Most Prosperous Countries in Africa, 2020
According to this year’s annual prosperity index, which was published on LPI’s official website, Mauritius is the most Prosperous country in Africa.
The country was ranked 44th globally and 5th in Africa. According to the index the country performed best on Safety & Security, Personal Freedom and Governance.
Mauritius performs most strongly in Investment Environment and Social Capital but is weakest in Natural Environment. The biggest improvement compared to a decade ago came in Education.
Seychelles on the other hand was ranked the second most Prosperous Country in Africa, According to the index South Africa performs best on social capital, health and economic quality.
Africa’s second biggest economy, South Africa also made it into the list of Most prosperous countries in Africa, the country was ranked 83rd globally and 5th in Africa. According to the index South Africa performs best on personal freedom, governance, and enterprise. The biggest improvement compared to a decade ago came in Social Capital.
