Disney is developing its first live-action fairytale film starring an African princess “Sadé,” they also tapped a Hollywood bases Nigerian, director Rick Famuyiwa to produce.
The studio bought a pitch from Ola Shokunbi and Lindsey Reed Palmer, who will co-write the screenplay about a young African girl named Sadé whose kingdom is threatened by a mysterious evil force and accepts her newly discovered magical powers to protect her people, with the help of the kingdom’s prince.
The story will see Sade, who after learning she has magical warrior powers, uses them to protect her kingdom from a mysterious evil force threatening to undo the life she’s always known.
And Sade won’t be alone as she will be joined in her adventure by the Kingdom’s prince, and together they set off to save the kingdom.
