1. Sauti Sol (Kenya)

Undoubtedly the best ‘musician’ (music group) in Kenya at the moment, Sauti Sol is a 4 man Kenyan afro-pop band made up of vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi and guitarist Polycarp Otieno.

The group is Mostly known all over Africa for their soft style of music.

Since they released their debut studio album “Mwanzo” on 1 November 2008, they’ve gone on to become a force to reckon with in not just Kenyan musicphere, but Africa’s musicphere as a whole. and they have the awards and nominations to prove it, they are the first Kenyan musician to win an MTV Award.

Currently, they are the best Music group in Africa.

2. Die Antwoord

Die Antwoord is a South African
hip hop group formed in Cape Town in 2008. The group is made up of rappers Ninja and Yolandi Visser, a male/female duo, and producer God (formerly DJ Hi-Tek).

If i’m asked to describe this band with just one word, it would be “Bizarre”.

They are popular in not just South Africa but also overseas And on YouTube they are equally as popular, with most of their videos surpassing the 10 million views and others like ‘Ugly boy’ and ‘i fink you freeky’ surpassing the 100 million mark.

3. Mafikhizolo

Mafikizolo is a South African singing duo consisting of Theo Kgosinkwe and a very voluptuous Nhlanhla Nciza. They are three-time winners of the South African Music Award for Group of the Year.

They used to known as One of South Africa’s best music groups, until in 2013 when their single “Khona” became an overnight sensation in Africa, Nigeria especially. Then people started referring to them as one of Africa’s best music groups.

4. Uhuru

Uhuru is a South African musical group best known for producing the hit single “Khona” which was performed by Mafikizolo.

The band consists Mapiano, DJ Clap and Xelimpilo Simelane (Xeli). Independently, Uhuru is best known for hit remixes like “Y-tjukutja” and “The Sound”. and for their beats.

One thing that is certain about this music group is.., whenever you see them in a song just know the beat is going to be explosive..

R2Bees is a Ghanaian hip hop and hip life duo from Tema made up of Omar Sterling and Mugeez.

6. Mi Casa

Mi Casa is a house band based in
Johannesburg, South Africa.. The band consists of three members, Dr. Duda (producer) and pianist, J’Something (vocalist and guitarist), and Mo-T (trumpeter).

They are so good that their first ever album titled Micasa Music, “went gold” quickly and won several awards at the 18th Annual MTN South Africa Music Awards in 2012.. In 2015 they returned with their double disc album Home Sweet Home which includes hit singles Chocolate & Barman featuring Big Nuz and DJ Tira.

The band, who have been together for five years, almost called it quits sometime around 2017 but as God would have it, they later settled their differences..

The group were so inspired by their near split that they decided to go into the studio and record their fourth album, which they have aptly called Familia.
